Support structure for photovoltaic panels in Brno-Chrlice: An innovative solution for older industrial buildings
A unique support structure for photovoltaic panels covering an area of 140 × 70 meters was installed at the 1CSC production hall in Brno-Chrlice. The project for the investor NB property a.s. shows how modern construction technology can be adapted to the demanding requirements of older industrial buildings.
The challenge was to design a structure that would not burden the roof itself, but would transfer the load directly to the existing reinforced concrete trusses, while spanning a width of 6 meters.
The project included the creation of documentation, roof surveying, the manufacture of steel structural elements, and assembly, which took place in the hall and directly on site during the winter of 2023–24.
KRAJICZECH aluminum systems were used, while the load-bearing structure itself is made of steel. Thanks to careful design and optimization of the structure, installation was completed within a week, despite the challenging winter conditions.
